Purpose and Scope
Lead the Affiliate Management Team with the overall budget responsibility of the affiliate while ensuring alignment across the organisation and engaging all stakeholders.
Lead the Affiliate Commercial team, including Business Units heads & teams, co-creating the Commercial team capabilities plan to support the maximisation of business opportunity and drive continuous improvement in customer-facing excellence.
Role and Responsibilities
- In collaboration with the Business Units, Market Access, Government Affairs and Commercial Operations areas, work locally and transversally to interpret and implement the International Commercial strategy at Affiliate level.
- Responsible for utilising matrix functional resource to meet the operational capability and performance needs within the Affiliate (including Medical & PV, Finance, QA, RA, E&C, Communications, Legal, Supply Chain and HR).
- Manage long-term strategic partnerships, developing sustainable and synergistic external relationships with key players/external experts, acting as ambassador for the Astellas brand, its reputation, products and product value.
- Co-create and implement Affiliate level annual plans and brand & centre plans , P&L derived from INT-C brand plans, annual objectives, medium term plans and other relevant INT-C/Global functional objectives and plans, considering cross-Affiliate insights and analysis, and applying knowledge and understanding of the local market to drive sustainable, profitable growth, enhancing operational efficiency and advancing Astellas’ commercial goals.
- Engage with local innovative pharma associations, in line with Latam strategy, to represent and support the company agenda within these associations, and through them, national healthcare policy.
- Responsible for safeguarding Astellas’ future by ensuring all business/commercial risk is managed proactively and sits at the heart of commercial decision-making, seeking guidance or escalating as appropriate.
- Accountable for Compliance, embedding an Ethics and Compliance culture and Integrity in Action, by proactively addressing non-compliance across all areas.
- Establish the talent, capabilities, and succession plans, leading and growing individuals into high-performing teams to ensure the long-term sustainable success of the business.
Essential Qualifications
- Previous experience as General Manager in the pharmaceutical industry or Business Unit Head in a Priority Market
- Post-graduate qualification such as MBA and/or MSc or equivalent
- At Least 10 years of experience in Commercial Position in the Pharma sector
- Track record of leading and growing multi-discipline, diverse, high-potential teams working across borders, developing individual, team and organisational capability, nurturing talent and undertaking succession planning to ensure long-term sustainability of business performance
- Successful experience launching high-cost products
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English
