Purpose and Scope
The Manager, Value & Access Strategy is responsible for developing and implementing value strategies that optimize patient access, drive payer and provider engagement, and support the company’s commercial objectives. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring account plans are aligned with customer needs, patient journeys, and corporate strategy.
Role and Responsibilities
Value & Access Strategy
- Develop and execute payer and provider value propositions, integrating clinical, economic, and real-world evidence.
- Identify opportunities to demonstrate value to healthcare decision-makers and influence access decisions.
- Collaborate with Medical, Marketing, and Commercial teams to ensure value messaging is aligned with brand and corporate priorities.
- Monitor policy changes, reimbursement trends, and contracting models to anticipate challenges and opportunities.
Account Plan Alignment
- Partner with Key Account Managers and Sales Representatives to ensure account plans reflect both strategic objectives and local customer insights.
- Support the integration of patient journey insights and outcome-based metrics into account strategies.
- Facilitate cross-functional alignment to ensure coordinated and consistent execution.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in payer and provider organizations.
- Represent the company in discussions with healthcare institutions, government bodies, and industry associations.
- Act as an internal advisor on payer and provider engagement best practices.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Explore innovative access models, including risk-sharing and outcome-based agreements.
- Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness in delivering value propositions.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on Market Access, Value Strategy, or related functions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Master’s degree in Health Economics, Market Access, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- Proven track record in developing and implementing value propositions with payers and providers.
- Experience working in cross-functional, matrixed environments.
- Strong understanding of the local healthcare system, reimbursement processes, and payer/provider landscape.
- Strategic thinking and ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex clinical and economic data.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MBA, MSc, MPH, or PhD) in Health Economics, Market Access, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience engaging with payer and provider stakeholders in complex healthcare systems.
- Proven success in leading cross-functional account planning processes and influencing without direct authority.
- Knowledge of innovative access models (e.g., outcome-based agreements, risk-sharing contracts) and health technology assessment (HTA) processes.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to translate real-world evidence and data into impactful value strategies.
