Working Environment and Location
This position is based in Mexico City (Santa Fe area) and will require on-site work in a hybrid set up.

Purpose and Scope
This position provides financial analysis and business partnership for assigned Cell & Gene Therapy assets and activities. Working within established planning and governance frameworks, the role supports portfolio and investment decisions by evaluating assumptions, preparing analysis, and providing recommendations that improve financial visibility, capital efficiency, and performance outcomes.
The position performs financial planning, forecasting, and analysis for clinical development project spend for assigned assets. This individual will translate key drivers into clear, timely insights, identifies emerging issues, and escalates material risks or changes to support prioritization, scenario analysis, and course correction by business and finance leaders.
This position collaborates with FP&A COE teams and business stakeholders to deliver timely, accurate planning and reporting for assigned areas. The role gathers business inputs, applies agreed assumptions and methodologies, explains financial results, and contributes to standardization, continuous improvement, and financial governance across R&D
Role and Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Forecasting
- Prepare and coordinate budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans for assigned clinical development programs, with potential exposure to Phase I–III and post-market activities, following established timelines, assumptions, and processes.
- Work with asset teams to maintain accurate project-level financial models, including trial costs, timelines, and resource assumptions.
- Update forecasts based on trial progress, enrollment changes, protocol amendments, and other approved business inputs.
- Perform analysis, reconcile inputs, document assumptions, and escalate significant gaps, risks, or changes to the appropriate finance and business leads.
- Contribute to assigned finance system enhancements, process improvements, and reporting updates by gathering requirements, completing defined deliverables, and supporting implementation.
Business Partnering with Asset Teams
- Serve as a day-to-day finance contact for Clinical Operations, Program Management, and other stakeholders within assigned areas, with guidance from senior finance leadership as needed.
- Prepare financial analysis and decision-support materials related to trial design changes, program plans, and portfolio reviews.
- Review business assumptions, ask clarifying questions, and highlight inconsistencies or financial implications while maintaining strong collaboration with non-finance stakeholders.
- Translate complex financial data into clear insights and recommendations for review by management and senior finance partners.
- Follow through on agreed actions, communicate updates, and escalate decisions or issues outside the role’s authority.

Project Spend Tracking & Variance Analysis
- Monitor actual results against budget and forecast at the study and program level for assigned assets.
- Investigate and explain key variances, including timing differences and permanent favorability or unfavorable changes.
- Prepare regular spend updates and flag emerging trends, data-quality concerns, and potential budget pressures.
- Support accrual and month-end processes for assigned assets in accordance with established controls and deadlines.
Strategic Alignment
- Analyze budget-allocation opportunities within assigned areas and present findings and recommendations to finance and business leadership.
- Provide financial analysis and data for enterprise and portfolio initiatives such as pipeline prioritization, licensing assessments, and program progression decisions.
- Identify and quantify risks and opportunities, such as clinical delays, cost overruns, and resource constraints, and escalate material impacts for management consideration.
- Apply established governance, accounting, and internal-control requirements and raise exceptions promptly.
Essential Qualifications
- BS/BA in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline
- Conversational and business English proficiency
- Experience preparing and coordinating planning, budgeting, and forecasting deliverables within the pharmaceutical industry or a comparable environment.
- Solid working knowledge of accounting and internal-control standards
- Experience with ERP systems, planning tools, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to operate effectively in a global and matrixed environment, including through remote communication and collaboration across cultures
- Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage assigned priorities and meet deadlines
- Clear communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain analysis, raise questions, and provide fact-based recommendations to stakeholders and management.
- Strong financial reporting and analysis skills, including the ability to identify trends and communicate meaning from data
- Ability to work independently on defined responsibilities, collaborate effectively with business partners and COE teams, and seek guidance when issues fall outside established parameter.
- Ability to build business acumen by gathering relevant information, understanding operational drivers, and applying financial knowledge to assigned areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA and / or CPA / CIMA and / or equivalent certificates (or qualified by experience)
- Experience working within a pharmaceutical technology or development area
