Working Environment and Location

This position is based in Mexico City (Santa Fe area) and will require on-site work in a hybrid set up.

Purpose and Scope

Intercompany Accountants, Assistant Controller supports all areas for Inventory, Supply Chain, and Intercompany Accounting, including cost allocations and Intellectual Property (IP) holder Accounting. This position supports the standard costing and intercompany transfer pricing processes across multiple regions. This position also supports preparation financial footnote and disclosures to support group level reporting to Astellas Pharma Inc. (Japan) parent company.

Role and Responsibilities

• Supporting the execution of inter/intra-company assessment cycles and associated invoicing in accordance with intercompany Transfer Pricing Agreements
• Analyzing product profitability and gross margin for intercompany transactions (transfer pricing margins, IP holder margins, contract manufacturing, contract revenue) and performing true-up adjustments to align with Transfer Pricing Policy
• Supporting timely and accurate intercompany balance confirmation and dispute resolution process with international affiliates and BPO colleagues
• Supporting domestic and international intercompany netting
• Supporting Inventory and Supply Chain accounting, VAT reporting, reconciliations, and analysis, including 3PL reconciliations.
• Working with internal and external auditors for Controls Reviews, PBC requests and other inquiries as needed
• Identifying and supporting the implementation of process improvement initiative

Essential Qualifications

• ACA / or ACCA / or CPA and / or equivalent accounting qualification
• Strong background in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in intercompany and inventory accounting or a similar field (prior experience in a multinational environment and matrix organisation preferred)
• English and local language advanced level in speaking and writing
• Familiarity with Shared Service or Global Capability Centre collaboration models
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and awareness of local GAAP variations
• Solid understanding of internal controls, J-SOX/SOX frameworks, and finance governance
• Advanced knowledge of transfer pricing, intercompany transactions, and corporate tax matters
• Proficiency in ERP systems (such as SAP) and exposure to financial consolidation tools
