Purpose and Scope

Provide the leadership necessary to achieve sales goals for Astellas’ products and services within a region. Provide coaching to Technical Consultants and provide consistent and uniform direction to team regarding execution of sales and marketing strategies and tactics. Develop the field team within the region, focusing on managing performance and career progression. Ensure the optimal allocation of resources across the region and maintain effective communication and relationships with key external and internal customers.

Quantitative Dimensions

  • Responsible for achieving 100% goal quota coverage product within a sales region that contains several territories.
  • Interacts with internal Astellas departments and external customers, such as Key Opinion Leaders.
  • Ensures collaborative relationships with their team and cross-functional teams within Astellas
  • Implements projects with project management, organization, and communication skills.
  • Responsible for achieving regional product sales and activity goals and managing team budgets (e.g., travel/business expense, exhibit/displays, and sales material utilization), all which have an impact on net sales and corporate profit. 

Essential Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree
  • At least 6 years pharmaceutical selling experience, with preference of at least 2 years’ pharmaceutical management experience;
  • Experience leading people and sales team (minimum of 3 years)
  • Extensive knowledge of sales processes and pharmaceutical products and industry

  • Excellent communication, facilitation and presentation skills
  • Proactive; high motivational and persuasion skills; takes ownership of situations
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • Problem solving ability
  • Documented record of performance and achievement
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Extensive travel is required
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing
  • English language
  • Experience in retail market
