Role and Responsibilities

  • Call on targeted physicians and oncology/hematology centers to promote and educate on the use of Astellas products through one-on-one meetings, presentations, professional education programs, and other appropriate channels.
  • Ensure high levels of call and field productivity by meeting or exceeding call plan expectations, with five days per week spent in the field, supported by office time for call planning, follow-up, preparation of presentations, and appointment scheduling.
  • Develop sales plans and execute territory business plan activities, supporting customers through company-approved resources and promotional initiatives, as aligned with the Regional Sales Manager.
  • Leverage clinical knowledge to influence prescribing behaviors appropriately.
  • Coordinate promotional efforts with peers across franchises and with co-promotion alliance partners.
  • Achieve quarterly sales targets within the assigned territory while strictly adhering to ethical sales practices and all applicable regulations.
  • Deliver a high level of clinical and technical value to healthcare customers, supporting their unique patient care needs while operating at all times within regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure optimal strategy execution through the use of annual territory business plans and analysis of call activity reports.
  • Accurately report sales activities, testing, and territory expenses, and submit required written reports in accordance with deadlines defined by Astellas or the Regional Sales Manager.
  • Properly manage and maintain all company equipment and promotional materials (including company literature and other materials) in compliance with company guidelines.

Essential Qualifications

  • BA degree
  • Minimum of 3 years pharmaceutical/healthcare selling experience
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in Oncology 
  • Extensive knowledge of sales processes and pharmaceutical products and industry
  • Basic understanding of clinical selling approach
  • Ability to work within a complex data driven market
  • Basic understanding of reimbursement landscape
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and presentation skills
  • Proactive; Can do approach; Takes ownership of situations
  • Problem solving abilities
  • Team Orientation – Effectively work and partner with team members to ensure positive impact on team dynamics and team goals
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Extensive travel is required
  • Valid Driver’s License in good standing
  • Ability to understand Clinical Trials
  • English for Reading
