Purpose and Scope
The Brand Insights Expert - INT-C Portfolio plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality insights to support decision-making at Astellas. Reporting to the Chapter Lead Brand Insights - INT-C within the Customer Engagement Excellence (CEE) team, this position will be responsible for developing and maintaining an accurate view of the regional market conditions for the assigned product(s) and TAs, providing primary and secondary market research, forecasting inputs and market landscapes. This position is also responsible for supporting launch preparations and maintaining an accurate picture of assigned product performance regionally along with risks and opportunities. Operating within an Agile model, the Expert will be assigned to Value Team(s) under the Brand@Center model.
Role and Responsibilities
- Value Team Delivery
- Deliver day-to-day tasks and responsibilities as defined by the Value Team’s mandate (based on business objectives)
- Support the Value Team Lead in executing the team’s strategy and objectives
- Apply expertise to address and resolve specific business challenges identified by the Value Team, with a focus on achieving measurable outcomes as defined by the objectives
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional team members and stakeholders to accomplish prioritized objectives and deliverables
- Area-specific Responsibility & Accountability
- Lead regional commercial analysis activities for assigned product(s). Provide forward-looking insights to advance understanding of the relevant markets with the aim of delivering major competitive advantage for Astellas’ products and development strategy
- Lead the identification of information needs, development of market research/data analysis plan, execution of the research process, and communication of actionable insights within assigned products, covering regional and local business decisions
- Collaborate with Global and affiliate insights to develop deep understanding of the market landscape which includes market potential, market trends, unmet medical and patient needs, market access challenges and competitor trends for each of the assigned products
- Collaborate with Finance to provide forecasting expertise to regional brand teams, supporting strategic forecasts and reconcile financial assumptions to ensure consistency of forecasts across affiliates
- Provide overall product market intelligence guidance to the B@C team
- Communicate key business findings and insights to the relevant cross functional stakeholders
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and participate in initiatives to improve team effectiveness and efficiency
- Skill Development and Learning:
- Engage in ongoing professional development and capability building, leveraging guidance from the Chapter Lead
- Compliance and Best Practices:
- Adhere to established standards, policies, and leading practices relevant to the Value Team and Chapter, ensuring compliance in areas such as Pharmacovigilance and E&C in Market Research
- Agile:
- Utilize agile approaches, collaborate in agile ceremonies and Ways of Working to ensure effective delivery for the business
- Collaborate and foster a culture of collaboration, flexibility, and responsiveness to change, enabling the team to thrive in an agile environment
Continue:Role and Responsibilities
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in science, engineering, mathematics, decision science, or analytics
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in forecasting, market research, competitive intelligence, and/or decision sciences role at a pharmaceutical company, or a consultancy focused on the biopharmaceutical industry
- Understanding of the role of a regional function within broader enterprise strategy
- Previous experience in an above-affiliate role or working with cross-functional teams across different regions/markets
- Highly coachable/ thrives in an environment of continuous growth
Preferred Qualifications
- Pharmaceutical Industry Experience in global mid-cap/large-cap company
- MBA
