Working Environment and Location

• This position is in Tralee, Ireland and requires you to be fully onsite.

Purpose and Scope

Reporting directly to the Systems Engineering Lead, the BMS Systems Engineer will operate within the Systems Engineering team, supporting the day-to-day management, administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Building Management Systems (BMS), utility control systems, and associated monitoring platforms across the site. The role will support both project delivery and operational readiness activities, ensuring reliable system performance, compliance, and effective vendor coordination.

Role and Responsibilities

• Support the operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, optimisation, and lifecycle management of BMS, utility automation, HVAC, environmental monitoring, PLC, and HMI systems.
• Administer utility and BMS platforms, including system configuration, user and security management, backups, recovery, and system lifecycle records.
• Monitor and investigate alarms, events, performance issues, incidents, and deviations, supporting timely resolution, escalation, CAPA, and continuous improvement.
• Support commissioning, qualification, operational readiness, change control, disaster recovery testing, audits, and cybersecurity remediation for facility and utility systems.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, administration guides, network diagrams, backup/recovery procedures, and other technical documentation.
• Coordinate with Facilities, Engineering, Quality, IT, Cyber Security, vendors, and contractors to support system integration, maintenance, upgrades, investigations, and reliable long-term operation.

Essential Qualifications

• Level 6 technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Automation, Building Services, Mechatronics, Electronic Systems, or related discipline, or equivalent trade qualification with relevant industrial experience.
• Hands-on experience with industrial utility, BMS, HVAC, PLC, HMI, instrumentation, and control systems, with strong fault-finding, troubleshooting, maintenance, upgrades, and reliability improvement skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with experience working safely with contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams; proactive, adaptable, independent, and willing to learn new technologies and systems.
