Working Environment and Location

• This is a permanent role based in our Global Capability Centre in Warsaw, Poland and hybrid working with the expectation for some office presence. Flexibility may be required in line with business needs. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.

Purpose and Scope

This position is critical for delivering Operational Excellence in the Ethics and Compliance Program, with a focus on central support of ABAC and DRM risks. It will assist the Global Anti-Bribery Anti-Corruption (ABAC) and Distributor Risk Management (DRM) Lead in the continuous improvement of Mature Risk Management (ABAC and DRM focus) within Astellas to achieve operational excellence of the Ethics & Compliance Program.

Role and Responsibilities

1. Central support for Global ABAC and DRM Lead (and Head of Risk Program Excellence), as well as Mature Risk SMEs, the ABAC Community of Practice, E&C Business Partners and business colleagues

Activities will include but not limited to: 

• Triage business ABAC questions
• Central support/triage for day-to-day operations related to ABAC, DRM and  HCP Conflicts of Interest (CoI)
• As required undertake deep dives/targeted monitoring focussing on high risk/emerging and /know issues and to supplement routine monitoring
• Manage emerging risks (eg ABAC backlog) & aging CAPAs     
• Lead on generation of CAPAs from Investigations recommendations 
• Provide oversight, linkage and global perspective across between monitoring, issues, emerging risks
• Lead on (and undertake) ABAC DD Globally supporting third parties/   distributors/HCOs, POs
• US Exclusion and Debarment screening support (as needed)

2. Partner closely with Risk Assurance and support the assessment and management of ABAC issues identified though monitoring using issue management system.
3. Support process improvement and training to support the delivery and enhancement of the Ethics and Compliance Program.  
4. Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement to ensure that the Company follows best practices in the pharmaceutical industry.
5. Other Ethics & Compliance initiatives deemed necessary to further enhance Astellas’ commitment to the Ethics and Compliance Program

Essential Qualifications

• Degree in law, life sciences/pharmacy, corporate governance, compliance or other related fields
• Substantive knowledge and experience with compliance with law, regulations and industry codes relevant to the pharmaceutical industry or financial background within pharma
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural regional and global environment
• Critical thinker with strong analytical skills. Ability to interpret data, rules and guidelines, and ability to conceptualize policies, procedures and controls
• Ability to demonstrate sound and independent judgment, prudence and maturity in complex and sensitive cases
• A strong commitment to integrity and professionalism and a commitment to excellence
• Ability to be flexible, follow tight deadlines, organize and prioritize work
• Strong drafting and communication skills (oral and written)
• Fluency in English (written and verbal)
